Tucked into the Aravalli hills of Alwar district, Sariska Tiger Reserve is one of Rajasthan's best-known wildlife destinations, its dry deciduous forest crossed by trails once used by royal hunting parties. The hilltop Bala Quila watches over Alwar town, while the palace on Siliserh Lake, built by a Maharaja for his queen, offers a calm counterpoint to the morning safari.
